Green Smoothies all the way!
The picture above is what I was imagining… me being all hipster with my giant glass jar, and my reusable metal straw.
Below is the reality…
Not so pretty, but it tastes great, and is super good for you!
2 Handfuls baby spinach
1 tsp greens powder (spirulina etc)
1tsp Maca Powder
1 Overripe banana
200ml plain coconut water
1 handful of ice and at least 250ml water
I use coconut water to add more sweetness as the greens powder is often overpowering – even with a banana in there.
So I’m back I guess. Focusing on my health, and obviously weight loss, BUT watching someone you love pass away really puts things into perspective.
I don’t want to pass before my time. I want to get old enough to ENJOY my retirement.
Health ‘issues’ – nothing serious, just niggles and ailments have crept back since gaining weight – and they were almost completely resolved when I was super fit in 2017.
My waist at full relax is 86cm! – anything above 80cm is AT RISK of heart disease! This is INSANE – What am I doing to myself? I have a kid, I need to be ALIVE. Not just skinnier but HEALTHIER.
Blood clots run in my family too, so I want to eat more foods that promote blood circulation etc. I might do a post on that?
I gave myself a start date of 2nd Jan (yesterday). So naturally, I binged in the weeks leading up to it and put on extra weight. -_-
I’m only 2 days in now, but so far so good. I’m trying to eat more whole foods, and plant based – but dinner will be the issue with meat, as can’t really afford to cook 2 separate meals all the time, so I have to have a modified version of our main meal.
I’m taking weekly body measurements too We’ll see how we go.
